This whip has a staghorn handle with a raised "gatepusher" section. There is a silver button stamped "Swaine & Co, London" on the heel of the staghorn. It has a silver plated collar
The stock or shaft is made of segmented cane with a dark brown and gold finish - this is known as "clouded cane". It has its original rawhide open keeper or loop at the end.
