There is a silver button on the heel of the staghorn. This is stamped "Swaine & Adeney Ltd., London" It has a sterling silver collar with raised edges, this is hallmarked London, the date stamp is rubbed but could be 1916-1935, it is stamped "Swaine" and has the silversmith's mark "ESA".
The shaft or stock is covered in brown braided leather. The whip has a its original stitched leather keeper at its end and a fine braided leather thong with a red cord lash.
