This whip has a staghorn or antler hook shaped handle with a raised "gatepusher" section. It has a nickel collar with ribbed edges. There is a fine crack in one rib (please look at the images), but there is no instability or movement associated with this. The thick stock or shaft is made of golden brown malacca cane, with its characteristic "teardrop" shaped cross-section.
It has its original stitched leather keeper or loop and a braided leather thong . The thong tapers to quite a fine diameter and has a loop at its end .
