Vintage Gaucho Horse Whip Handle - w1664

This is a turned wood whip handle.
It has a silver coloured metal collar and similar ends - these are probably made of Alpacca or a similar alloy. 

There is a shaped metal handle at one end - this would hold a strap for hanging the whip from the saddle or a belt.

At the other end of the whip there is a ring which would hole a thong or lash

This was a working tool, there are many small scratches and dings on the metal fittings
