The inside of the hatband of this hat measures 55cm or 21⅝", that is size 6¾ in UK hat sizes or 6⅞ in the USA
There is a dent in the top of the hat on the left side - this could be blocked out by a restorer. The hat is covered in black silk plush. The silk is in very good condition. The black fabric on the underside of the brim has some wear, it could be replaced Inside the hat is lined in cream silk which is in good clean condition although a seam has split under the dent. It is stamped "Extra Quality" & "Herbert Johnson, 38 New Bond St., London W" and monogrammed "V.S.N".
