This whip has a staghorn or antler hook shaped handle
There is a button on the heel of the horn, this is stamped "Frost Bawtry York". There is an image of the shopfront of Frost Saddlers in Bawtry in the mid-20th century on the website of the Doncaster Free Press. It has two nickel collars with ribbed edges.
Between the collars the whip is covered in brown leather with a finely stitched seam The rest of the stock or shaft is covered in braided thread
It has its original open leather keeper or loop and a braided leather thong . The thong tapers to quite a fine diameter and has a loop at its end and a cord lash .
