This is a vintage rectangular leather case which closes with a billet fastening.
The leather is mahogany coloured with a good patina, there are a few small marks on it from use Its stitching is very good. The buckles and straps which would attach to the D-rings of the saddle are in good order. The girth strap has a new section
The case is lined in cream coloured doeskin or chamois
Inside there is a double hinged plated sandwich tin. This is stamped inside with a trumpet and banner and "J. D. & S, 824S" The tin is in good condition, although there is some rubbing to the plating on its lower back edge.
