This whip could be carried by a smaller woman or a youth.
It has an antler or staghorn handle. There is a silver button on the heel of the staghorn which is stamped "Swaine & Adeney Ltd., London". It has a silver collar with ribbed edges.
It is hallmarked London , the date stamp is too rubbed to read, the shield shape would suggest the 1970's. The collar is stamped "Swaine" and "Fibreglass" .
The shaft or stock is covered in pale brown braided thread. The whip has its original stitched keeper in leather.
It has a fine braided leather thong with a red cord lash. The thong is finer than most modern thongs. I do not think it is suitable for cracking.
