This whip or crop dates from the early to mid 20th Century,
The grip is covered in brown leather.
There is a braided thread cap and collar and a leather wrist strap On its cap it has a silver plated button that is stamped "Merle & Co" and "Steel Lined".
Merle & Co was a trademark used by G & J Zair from 1898 until 1965.
The flexible tapering shaft is covered in cream coloured braided thread The whip ends in a narrow stitched keeper.
