They are made of iron or steel, with a dark colour and some surface oxidation, but the surface is stable. They probably date from the early 20th Century. Each has a large eight pointed rowel which still turns.
The heel bands are quite wide.
One side of each spur has silver overlay in diagonal lines . The other side of each spur has silver overlay with punched decoration. Each arm ends in a rectangular slot. There is a swinging button on each arm.
The spurs have their original straps with the remains of a basketweave pattern but the have become hard with time
