This conical flask has a silver plated bayonet or captured cap. The flask is handblown heavy crystal
The red brown coloured case has a very good patina. It is stamped "Walklate Berkhamsted", John Walklate (1819-1894) was born in Hemel and was a saddler and harness maker all his working life, his shop seems to have ceased trading in the mid 20th century
The case closes with a billet fastening
The case has its original top strap which attaches the flask to the D ring of the saddle.
The case has a keeper to hold a strap to attach to the girth so that the flask can sit on the either side of the saddle.
