A dark tan leather case which would attach to the saddle.
On the outside there is a leather loop or sword frog.
It closes with a brass stud and there is a brass stud on the frog..
Inside there is the pocket for spare nails. The girth strap is stamped "Sheldon & Sons Ltd. Walsall 1916" .
There are labels attached to the net
Two labels are attached to a small silver coloured seal It is titled "Standard Pattern No.", it is stamped "Resealed" and "Cancelled". The other side has a list of places that the case has been issued to including Jabez Cliff and Russells of Bath
There is also a black cloth tag, it has a broken red seal stamped with a crest It is attached to a faded cloth label printed "Stores and Inspection Division", the back carries various stamps.
